Ingredients:

  • Mustard (Yellow seeds powder)

    3 1/2 oz
  • Turmeric

    1 tsps
  • White Wine (dry)

    1/3 cup
  • Vinegar (white)

    1 tbsp
  • Sugar

    1 tbsp
  • Salt

    1/2 tsp

Cooking Directions:

In a large bowl add the Yellow Mustard seeds powder and mix with the turmeric powder.

In another bowl mix together the dry white wine, the vinegar, the sugar and the salt. Stir well.

Slowly add the wine and vinegar mixture onto the mustard seed powder and mix with a spatula to obtain a creamy and homogeneous sauce.

Let the homemade mustard sauce set for about 15 minutes before serving.

Serve this homemade mustard sauce on your hot dogs, hamburgers, sandwiches, or as a dressing for salads and meat.


Tips:

Homemade mustard keeps well in the fridge for few months. Just add a thin layer of oil on top of the mustard to protect it from the air.

Try also preparing this homemade mustard using an equal amount of yellow and black mustard seed powder.

Adjust the quantity of wine and vinegar to obtain a thicker or more liquid mustard.

Mustard powder or mustard flour is obtained by finely ground mustard seeds with a very good grinder. Mustard powder used in this recipe is sold in most specialty stores.
